The core of a Rumipod is made from a very rigid sandwich of bonded sheet wood and insulation board.
We were trying to think of a way to convey how strong this was so we drove a car on it.
The front end loading is estimated at 750-800kg.
There is little appreciable deformation under a forces of nearly 400kg per wheel.
(that’s the same as putting five adults where the wheels are – tricky )
The shot below shows that the piece is unharmed.
Strength and insulation – manufactured precisely. The result is a comfortable and robust work space that is draught free and energy efficient.
The core assembly is protected by Plastisol metal cladding and composite GRP that form a highly effective and enduring weather shield to ensure a long, stylish and low maintenance life.
